The Chemtrol® socket union is an injection molded natural Kynar® polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) thermoplastic fitting that features female thermo-seal socket connections. Natural Kynar® (PVDF) fittings are ideal for use with ultra-pure water, deionized/distilled and demineralized water systems, clean chemical processes, pharmaceutical operations and food processing. The Chemtrol socket union is supplied with an FKM fluorocarbon seal which is suited to most applications involving mineral acids, salt solutions, chlorinated hydrocarbons and petroleum oils. It is also available with EPDM ethylene propylene seal which has good abrasion and tear resistance, plus excellent chemical resistance, but not recommended for applications involving petroleum oils or most strong acids. Chemtrol® Kynar® natural PVDF exhibits superior strength, working temperature and chemical resistance characteristics. Natural pigment provides UV protection. Kynar® PVDF offers versatile chemical resistance to slats, strong acids, dilute bases and many organic solvents such as aromatics, aliphadics and chlorinated groups. PVDF is also ideally suited for handling wet or dry chlorine bromine and other halogens.
